This Week 

  • Feb. 13th: Report cards go home 

 

Coming Up 

  • Feb. 16th: Family Day, No School 

  • Feb. 17th: Carnaval 

  • Feb. 19th & 20th: Dental Screening 

  • Feb. 25th: InnPower Presentation (date changed from February 26th, information letter was sent home on Jan. 14, 2026) 

  • Feb. 26th: Grade 5 to 8 classes attending a play at Georgian College. Permission and payment are available online. Any questions please contact your child’s teacher. 

  • March 5th: Grade 3 & 4 classes (includes 2/3 class) attending a play at Georgian College. Permission and payment are available online. Any questions please contact your child’s teacher. 

 

Camp Olympia for Gr. 8’s and Camp Kandalore for Gr. 7’s 

  • The deposit and permission form for these trips are now available through schoolcash online. 

  • Camp Olympia for the Grade 8’s is May 27 to 29 (deposit due by Feb. 13, 2026) 

  • Camp Kandalore for the Grade 7’s is May 11 to 13 (deposit due by Feb. 20, 2026)

Carnaval de Sunnybrae 

  • Our school is gearing up for an unforgettable event – the upcoming Winter Carnival based on Le Carnaval d’hiver in Quebec City. Tuesday, February 17th, we will transform our school yard into a winter wonderland filled with joy, laughter, and festive activities for students in Grades 1-8. Our Kindergarten classes will have a Winter fun celebration on a later date. (In the case of inclement weather, the carnival will be postponed to the following day, February 18th.)  

  • Please ensure your child is dressed warmly with layers, hats, gloves, snowpants and waterproof boots. Please send extra socks and mittens/gloves. We want everyone to stay cozy and enjoy the festivities to the fullest.  

  • Additionally, we are in search of enthusiastic parents who would like to contribute to the success of the Winter Carnival by volunteering. If you are on the approved volunteer list and are available and willing to help, please contact Danielle Shannon at [email protected]. Joyeux Carnaval! 

 

School Merchandise 

  • Looking to purchase Bulldog merchandise? Go to Just Add Ten at http://sunnybrae.justadd10.com and look at the options. You place your order directly with them and can have it sent to the school. 

 

Hot Lunch Program         

"Choose from a variety of food options such as Pizza, subs, sushi, burritos, tacos and bubble tea"    

  • For any order cancellations, please notify lunchbox 2 days prior to the delivery date. Lunches will not be kept for students who are absent on the day of the lunch.   

  • If there is a school closure, lunches will be cancelled, and a credit will be issued to your Lunchbox account within 3 business days.

Safe Arrival system for SCDSB schools –email [email protected] or call 1-888-885-8065 or to report an absence (we recommend using the email system). Parents/guardians are responsible to report a child’s absence/arriving late prior to the start of the school day. Do not wait for the call from the school. Please note: the safe arrival number and email are to be used only to notify the school if your child will be late or absent. It is not for notification of changes in pick up, busing, etc.   

 

On days when buses are cancelled due to inclement weather, the Safe Arrival program continues. For parents/guardians of students who ride the bus on these days, if you receive a call and believe that your child should be in attendance, you are asked to please call the school. Otherwise, the school will assume that you are aware of your child's absence
