Bulldog Bulletin - June 16-20, 2025

We are both excited and sad to announce the retirement of one of our fabulous Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Terri Speare.  Mrs. Speare started her career as an Early Childhood Educator, but after many years decided to become a Kindergarten teacher. We appreciate Mrs. Speare for her calm in the face of every storm, her humour, and for being supportive, genuine, and passionate about kids and literacy.  We are happy for the fun-filled future that awaits her, but sad that she will not be joining us in a classroom next year.  Congratulations and good luck, Mrs. Speare!

This Week:

  • June 16th: Int. Girls 3-Pitch Baseball Tournament
  • June 18th: Int. Boys 3-Pitch Baseball Tournament
  • June 20th: Report Cards Go Home

Upcoming Events:

  • June 24th: Grade 8 Graduation
  • June 26th: Last Day of School

Walk ‘N’ Roll

The “Walk ‘N Roll” challenge continues this week! Sunnybrae students will be challenged to take green transportation to school by walking, rolling, or riding the school bus to school!

Walking, or rolling, to school has many benefits:

  • Healthier students are out getting exercise!
  • Fewer emissions, less air pollution
  • Safer school zones with fewer cars = healthier communities

For more information about the benefits of Active Transportation. Ontario Active  School Travel.

Students will receive a card to track the number of times that they walk, roll, or take a bus to school. After they fill their card, students will drop off their card to the Walk n’ Roll ballot box and get a new card.  Each week members from the Green Team will be drawing names to win a prize!  The challenge is from June 2nd to June 20th. Go Bulldogs!

Phones

When dialing the school, please listen to the message at the start before pressing ‘0’. If you press ‘0’ too soon the system will cut you off. Once you are through the first message you are directed to select the extension. For the office you can select ‘0’ or put in 27300. If you do not get an answer please leave a message.

Safe Arrival system for SCDSB schools – email [email protected] or call 1-888-885-8065 to report an absence (we recommend using the email where possible as there are ongoing problems with the phone messaging). Parents/guardians are responsible for reporting a child’s absence/arriving late prior to the start of the school day. Do not wait for the call from the school.  Please note this system is to report student’s who will be absent or late not to report student’s leaving early. Those messages should be sent directly to your child’s teacher
