Bulldog Bulletin - June 2 to 6, 2025

Big thanks to Mrs.Gallant and her volunteers for organizing a fantastic week of Track and Field competition.  There were several records broken by students, and almost every Junior and Intermediate student in our school participated!   Grade 3s finished their EQAO and celebrated with a pizza party.  Our newest Kindies checked out the school and tried out some big kid tasks at Welcome to Kindergarten night. It was a great week to be a Bulldog!

This Week:

  • June 2nd: Gr. 6 EQAO begins

  • June 5th: Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart

  • June 6th: PA Day - No School

Upcoming Events:

  • June 9th: Regional Track & Field (see attached letter)

  • June 11th: Fun Fair

  • June 24th: Grade 8 Graduation

Raise The Dough

Raise The Dough fundraiser with Ref’s is BACK! On Monday June 2, Tuesday June 3, and Wednesday June 4, if you say SUNNYBRAE when ordering, 20% of all pizza and ice cream sales will go to our school! Treat the family with a weekday surprise, and spread the word to friends and neighbours!!

Walk ‘N’ Roll

The “Walk ‘N Roll” challenge starts on Monday, June 2nd! Sunnybrae students will be challenged to take green transportation to school by walking, rolling, or riding the school bus to school!

Walking, or rolling, to school has many benefits:

  • Healthier students are out getting exercise!

  • Fewer emissions, less air pollution

  • Safer school zones with fewer cars = healthier communities

For more information about the benefits of Active Transportation. Ontario Active  School Travel.

Students will receive a card to track the number of times that they walk, roll, or take a bus to school. After they fill their card, students will drop off their card to the Walk n’ Roll ballot box and get a new card.  Each week members from the Green Team will be drawing names to win a prize!  The challenge is from June 2nd to June 20th. Go Bulldogs!

When dialing the school, please listen to the message at the start before pressing ‘0’. If you press ‘0’ too soon the system will cut you off. Once you are through the first message you are directed to select the extension. For the office you can select ‘0’ or put in 27300. If you do not get an answer please leave a message.

Safe Arrival system for SCDSB schools – email [email protected] or call 1-888-885-8065 to report an absence (we recommend using the email where possible as there are ongoing problems with the phone messaging). Parents/guardians are responsible for reporting a child’s absence/arriving late prior to the start of the school day.
