Webinar Series on Mental Health and substance use

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) invites parents/guardians to register for a free, four-part webinar series focused on mental health and substance use, hosted by School Mental Health Ontario (SMHO). Each webinar in the By Your Side series will feature a presentation by leading experts. The topics to be covered are:

  • Body image — May 7
  • Anxiety — June 5

Participating parents/guardians are invited to provide questions related to these topics in advance so they can be addressed during the related session. Each session will also include time for a live question-and-answer period.

Safe Arrival

Just a reminder, our new safe arrival system started on April 28, 2026. Please report student absences using one of the following methods instead of calling the existing attendance line. We will no longer monitor the old attendance line beginning May 4th.

  1. App
  • Login or sign up to create your account using the same email address on record with the school. If you have an existing account with SchoolMessenger, you can login using the password from that account.
  • At the bottom of the screen, select Attendance, then Report an Absence.
  1. Website
  • Login or sign up to create your account using the same email address on record with the school. If you have an existing account with SchoolMessenger, you can login using the password from that account.
  1. Phone
  • Call 1-833-275-6699 (toll-free) and follow the prompts to report an absence.

If a student absence has not been reported by the parent/guardian, the automated notification system will attempt to contact parents/guardians at multiple contact points until a reason is submitted for the absence. If the automated system is unable to reach the designated contacts, office staff will follow up.

If your student’s absence is reported in advance using one of the three options available, you will NOT receive these notifications.

If the absence will be more that 5 days you will need to email [email protected]
