Bulldog Bulletin - May 5 to 9, 2025
On May 8 and 9 at 6pm parents and the Innisfil community are invited to come to the Sunnybrae Public School production of Knight School. Nine brave students pack up their things, leave home and go to a new school to learn how to become knights. Their teacher, Merlin, decides that he will send them off on three quests to learn everything they need to know to be knighted. Loosely based on nine of SCDSB’s character traits, we follow the adventures of our brave squires to discover if they will acquire the character trait required. Tickets are available through school cash online.

Tickets for Musical
Come out to see Sunnybrae Public School's musical: Knight School...Nine brave students pack up their things, leave home and go to a new school to learn how to become knights. Two evening performances are open to parents, family members and friends: May 8th & 9th. The play will run from 6:00 to around 8:00 PM in the school gym (doors will open at 5:40 pm). Late arrivals will only be allowed to enter between acts so please be on time. The cost of tickets is $5.00 each. You may purchase tickets for both nights. Seating is limited due to fire codes. Ticket sales are available through schoolcash online. Deadline to purchase is Monday, May 5th. Tickets will be sent home with students on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Yard Sale-This Sunday!
Sunnybrae’s 2nd Annual Community Trunk Sale will be held on Sunday, May 4th in the Stroud Arena parking lot from 10 am until 4 pm. If you have saleable items but do not wish to be a vendor, you may donate your items to our Community Table (please note: due to time/space constraints we CANNOT accept clothes or stuffed toys at the Community Table). All proceeds from the sale of items at the Community Table will support activities at Sunnybrae Public School. Vendor set up is 8 am-10 am; Community Table donations are accepted after 9 am on the day of the sale, or by prior arrangement. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
Movie Night
Mother Nature tried its best to freeze out The Wild Robot, but we cannot be stopped! Wednesday May 14th will be MOVIE NIGHT at Sunnybrae!! Tickets $10/child, includes popcorn and juice box! Drop off starts at 5:30pm; pick up at 8:30pm. Last day to purchase tickets is Sunday, May 11th. See you then! (Note: This is for Sunnybrae PS students only)
School Council
The last Sunnybrae School Council meeting of the school year will be held on Monday May 12 at 5:30pm in the school library. All Parent Council meetings are open to the Sunnybrae school community; if you’re interested in learning how our school functions, it’s NEVER too late to join us at a meeting!
Jump Rope for Heart / Hoops for Heart
This year, our JK to grade 6 students will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart while our intermediate students will be participating in Hoops for Heart. Our event date is Thursday, June 5 (rain date: TBA). Students will be outside for one block of the day to take part in various activities that show how to keep their heart healthy. Donations are welcome and may be made at the following online address: https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/87365 Unfortunately, the school will not be able to accept cash. All donations are greatly appreciated! Let’s go, Bulldogs! This is an event we don’t want to skip!

The weekly deadline to place lunch orders for the upcoming week is Sunday at 12:00 PM; Lunchbox is unable to accept any orders after this deadline.

If you need to make any updates or changes to your lunch orders, please do so before Sunday at 12:00 PM for the upcoming week.

Safe Arrival system for SCDSB schools – email [email protected] or call 1-888-885-8065 to report an absence (we recommend using the email where possible as there are ongoing problems with the phone messaging). Parents/guardians are responsible for reporting a child’s absence/arriving late prior to the start of the school day. Do not wait for the call from the school.
