The Primary Fun Run was a blast this week! Thanks to all of the parents who came out to support our runners. Director Dance visited Sunnybrae on Wednesday and some of our classes had the chance to say good-bye and thank you as he retires at the end of December. On Monday, we welcomed our new school council. Thank you to Jenn Tough, Council Chair, Marisa Stroud, Council Secretary, Chi Le, Jessica Cordeiro, Tanya Herrantz, and Jessica Richardson for joining this year. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings which will be held Nov. 4, Feb. 3, Apr. 7, and June 2 or join one of the fundraising subcommittees by contacting Jenn Tough.
Please remember that students in grades 4-8 need written consent to leave school property for second lunch and must be reminded of the expectations that they will follow safety rules and behave respectfully when off school property. Students in lower grades who are going out for lunch must be picked up by an adult and should not accompany an older sibling.

Innisfil Public Library Visit with Kindergarten Classes
The Innisfil library will visit each of our kindergarten classes on Friday, October 18th to help get our students excited about reading! They will present a 30-minute, interactive circle time all about the Library, and prepare each of our students to go home with their very own Library card. This will be a fantastic way to get students excited about the Library, books, and reading.
Special Education Outreach Series
Interested in learning more about the ways that the SCDSB supports students with special education needs and their families? Join us for a virtual special education outreach series. The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is hosting virtual special education outreach sessions to assist parents/caregivers in learning more about programs, supports, and ways that we work together to support students with special education needs.
- The first session, IEPs and school-based assessments – information for parents/caregivers, will be held on Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This virtual presentation will include an opportunity for participants to share some of their questions regarding IEPs and special education programming.
- Participants are asked to register in advance. Information to access the sessions will be shared via email with individuals who have pre-registered.
