Special Education Outreach Series
Interested in learning more about the ways that the SCDSB supports students with special education needs and their families? Join us for a virtual special education outreach series. The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is hosting virtual special education outreach sessions to assist parents/caregivers in learning more about programs, supports, and ways that we work together to support students with special education needs.
- The first session, IEPs and school-based assessments – information for parents/caregivers, will be held on Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This virtual presentation will include an opportunity for participants to share some of their questions regarding IEPs and special education programming.
- Participants are asked to register in advance. Information to access the sessions will be shared via email with individuals who have pre-registered. Nantyr Shores School Band Fundraiser
Looking for something FUN to do with the family this Saturday, October 19th? Come on down to the Alcona library and support the Nantyr Shores SS school band at their fundraiser, MUSIC AT THE MARKET! From 10am until 5pm there will be yummy food trucks, vendors selling all sorts of fun and cool items, and performances by local musicians, including Nantyr Shores’ own Triton Music Band! The performances can be enjoyed for free but seek out the Triton Music Parent Council’s gifting table! For each $2 donation you will receive a gift ticket that will go into a draw for gift baskets, gift cards, and more, all generously gifted by local businesses!! Many current Sunnybrae students will attend Nantyr, and undoubtedly some of them will join the school’s burgeoning music program. The Triton reputation is growing quickly, and over the last few years they have had amazing success at various competitions and festivals!! Traveling to these competitions and festivals can come with heavy costs, so the Triton Music Parent Council (and their musical kids!) have been working hard to create an event to help raise fund to offset some of those costs, so that more students can attend more events. Thank you for your support, hope to see you down by the Alcona Library this Saturday, October 19th!
