Bulldog Bulletin September 21 to 25, 2026

From the Principal’s Desk:

A Full Week and Fully in Motion!

What an incredible week at Sunnybrae! With a full week of learning, activities, and school spirit behind us, it’s hard to keep track of all the amazing things that have already been launched this September.

Our Flag Football and Cross-Country teams are working hard in practices and are looking fantastic. The dedication, teamwork, and positive attitudes our student-athletes are demonstrating have been wonderful to see.

Inside our classrooms, educators continue the important work of getting to know every learner and building strong student and class profiles. Students have been developing the key learning skills that help everyone succeed, including persistence, flexible thinking, resilience, and, most importantly, grit. These foundational skills will support our students throughout the entire school year.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hill, our music maestro, has begun rehearsals for the Colts Night Choir. We are thrilled that our students will have the incredible opportunity to perform the National Anthem on October 8 at our annual Sunnybrae Colts Night. We can’t wait to see them shine!

And the excitement continues next week! We have a packed schedule that includes our Colts Rally Assembly, plenty of school spirit, and one of our most important community events, the Terry Fox Run.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated to this meaningful cause. Your generosity helps continue Terry’s legacy of hope and determination. We are well on our way, but we still need your help to reach our school fundraising goal of $1,000. Donations can be made easily through SchoolCash Online.

Thank you for helping make Sunnybrae such a positive, caring, and vibrant place to learn. We are looking forward to another fantastic week together!

Sports

Our Cross Country team will begin the week of September 21st. Students who are interested in participating have signed up to run during our break times during the school day on Day 1, 3 & 5 at first break. Participating students must have proper footwear to participate. Parents and guardians are reminded to review the Ophea safety requirements ahead of tryouts to stay informed about any associated risks and help ensure a safe and positive experience for all. We are excited to offer this opportunity for students to get involved, build team spirit, and showcase their talents.
