Principal’s Message: We are excited for the Fun Fair on June 12th. Thank you to all the families who have donated items for the silent auction class baskets. In just over two years, we have raised $24,746.22 towards our 10+ years’ goal to purchase playground equipment. We truly appreciate your support and the support of this generous community!

Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart is an event nobody wants to skip! On Thursday, June 6th (rain date to be determined) students will be outside participating in jump rope activities in an effort to raise funds for the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation. Donations are welcome! No donation is too small - every little bit helps to make a difference! Book Swap
The library is once again hosting a summer book swap. Students are invited to bring in slightly used or new books to donate. Donations are now being accepted and are due no later than Monday, June 10th. Students who donate a book(s) will be invited to the library from Monday, June 10th to Thursday, June 13th to pick out a new-to-them book to keep and read over the summer.
Walk ‘N Roll Challenge
The “Walk ‘N Roll” challenge starts on Tuesday June 4th! Sunnybrae students will be challenged to take green transportation to school by walking, rolling, or riding the school bus to school! Walking, or rolling, to school has many benefits:
- Healthier students out getting exercise!
- Fewer emissions, less air pollution
- Safer school zones with fewer cars = healthier communities

Students will receive a card to track the number of times that they walk, roll, or take a bus to school. After they fill their card, students will drop off their card to the Walk n’ Roll ballot box and get a new card. Each week members from the Green Team will be drawing names to win a prize! The challenge is from June 4th to June 19th. Go Bulldogs!
Fun Fair
Huge thanks to everyone who participated in our RAISE THE DOUGH event with Ref’s Pizza this week! You helped your school community AND you solved the problem of what to serve for dinner, way to multitask!! But June is almost upon us, and here at Sunnybrae that means it’s almost time for the FUN FAIR! The Parent Committee alongside Sunnybrae staff and students have been working hard for months to bring this event to you and we hope you’re as excited as we are for WEDNESDAY JUNE 12 from 5pm until 8pm!!
As in past years, we will be selling tickets onsite at the schoolyard entrance (cash only, please!) But if you’d like to skip the line, please consider pre-purchasing tickets for your family via SCHOOLCASH ONLINE! We will send home with students as many ticket bundles as possible a day before the event; any bundles not picked up will be available in a special FAST LINE near the Sunnybrae Ave playground entrance.
As you will see, you can purchase both Food Vouchers and Tickets. The Food Vouchers are redeemable at our volunteer-run BBQ stations and must be purchased either in advance through SchoolCash Online, or at the entrance on the day of the Fun Fair (but not at the BBQ station itself). We have also invited a small selection of food trucks to participate in our event, and their offerings can be purchased directly from them on the day. Food vouchers are not redeemable from the food trucks.
Tickets can be used for many things at the Fun Fair!

There will be lots of FREE things at the Fun Fair too!! There will be mascots and local sports stars walking among us! There will be demonstrations by local dance companies and Yujo Martial arts! There will be free lemonade from Foodland and free games to play (with prizes!) in the Kidzone! And there will be a Silent Auction (okay that one’s not free if you win, but you can score some great deals, and sometimes that feels even better than free!) We’ll also have a visit from the firetruck and some police officers, and some REAL RACE CARS accepting donations for the INNISFIL FOOD BANK!
So please pre-order your tickets, collect your non-perishable items for donation, and get ready to have a great time on Wednesday June 12 at 5pm!!! Thanks Sunnybrae!
