Book Swap: Our summer book swap is quickly approaching! Students are invited to donate gently used books during the month of May and early June. Then, on June 12th to 15th, students who brought in a book, will be able to come and pick a “new to them” book to read over the summer. Any leftover books will be donated to Sunnybrae classrooms. Let’s get reusing bulldogs and help reduce waste! Thank you!
Book Fair: The Scholastic Spring Book Fair is almost here! We will be open for students only from MAY 10 - 12 during school hours. Parents/guardians are invited to order online anytime from May 10 until May 15. Thank you for your support. Happy book shopping! Gr. 8 Grizzly Cubs Event at Georgian College: Transition planning for school to workplace. This transition activity supports consideration of a variety of pathways beyond high school and includes tours and interactive presentations in various programs such as fitness, baking, sculpture, carpentry, plumbing, nursing, esthetics, police studies, veterinary technician and much more! Students will travel by school bus to Georgian College on May 8th, leaving Sunnybrae PS at 9:00 am and returning by 2:30 pm. There is no cost to this trip. Permission for this event is available through schoolcash online. If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher.
Gr. 5 Environmental Program with Nantyr SS Enviro Group: Grade 5 students will travel by school bus to Innisfil Central to participate in an environmental program led by Nantyr Enviro Program. Students will learn in/for/about the environment through games, hands-on explorations and will learn about conservation of natural resources. Date & Time: May 18, 2023, 10:00 am to 2:20 pm Cost is $16.00 per student for the program and busing. Permission and payment for this event is available through schoolcash online. Class Placements for 2023/2024: If you have information regarding your child for next year's class placement that you would like considered by our staff, please write a letter to the Principal, Ms. Butler by May 26th, 2023. Please do not list specific teacher names, as our staffing will not be finalised until the end of Summer. Teachers continue to have opportunities to retire, transfer schools, apply for leadership roles, etc. Listing characteristics of a teacher best suited to your child’s learning style is appropriate.
Covid Screening: All students and staff are encouraged to complete the daily COVID-19 self-assessment screening tool
prior to entering SCDSB schools and buildings and follow the direction of the screening tool. We have some RA Test kits here at the school.
